Player Profile
When Nazreon Hilton Reid steps onto the court with his distinctive style, it's impossible to ignore him. Nicknamed "Big Jelly", this 6'10" big man perfectly embodies the spirit of the "Jelly Fam" movement he was part of in high school — a collective of players known for their spectacular play and offensive creativity.
Raised by his mother alongside two sisters in Asbury Park, New Jersey, Reid quickly established himself as a sensation at Roselle Catholic High School. A unanimous five-star prospect, he led his team to victory in the NJSIAA Tournament of Champions and participated in the prestigious McDonald's All-American Game in 2018. His impact was so significant that the school retired his jersey in January 2025.
After choosing LSU, Reid transformed his body and delivered a remarkable freshman season, averaging 13.6 points and 7.2 rebounds per game. However, the path to the NBA was not without its hurdles: going undrafted in the 2019 Draft, he had to prove his worth another way.
The Minnesota Timberwolves gave him that chance, and Reid seized it brilliantly. Having quickly become an essential contributor to the team, he remains to this day the only member of "Jelly Fam" to have reached the highest level. His rise, capped by a lucrative multi-year contract with Minnesota, speaks to his determination to turn obstacles into stepping stones. Reid continues to bring his unique style and natural charisma to a league where authenticity often makes all the difference.
