Josh Giddey: stats, last game & news

When you grow up with two parents who played professionally for the Melbourne Tigers, basketball naturally flows through your veins. Josh Giddey was no exception to this rule, inheriting from Warrick and Kim Giddey far more than a simple passion for the game.

Developed at Yarraville and then at the prestigious NBA Global Academy in Canberra, the young Australian point guard quickly confirmed his exceptional potential. His performances at the Torneo Junior Ciutat de L'Hospitalet in Barcelona, where he claimed MVP honors, and his selection to the Basketball Without Borders camp during NBA All-Star Weekend demonstrated a precocious talent that transcended Australian borders.

Rather than following the traditional path of American college basketball, Giddey made the bold choice to join the Adelaide 36ers through the NBL's Next Stars program. This strategic decision allowed him to compete directly at the professional level while keeping an eye on the NBA.

Standing 6'8", Giddey redefines the modern point guard position. His exceptional court vision, combined with rebounding abilities unusual for his position, makes him a versatile player capable of impacting every area of the floor. His basketball IQ and competitive spirit complete a profile that has captivated observers around the world.

Regarded as one of the brightest prospects in Australian basketball, Giddey perfectly embodies this new generation of unconventional point guards who are reshaping traditional norms through their size and versatility.
