Virtus Bologna survives in Paris on a fourth-quarter surge

Paris Basketball let a third-quarter lead slip away. The hosts led 65-64 through three quarters, built on quarters of 26, 12 and 27 points, but Virtus Bologna turned the final period into a track meet. The Italian club closed the final ten minutes with a 32-29 edge to walk away with a 96-94 win on the road. It's the kind of finish that will sting more than most for a Paris team that led going into the fourth quarter.

Tyson Etienne ran the Paris attack all night, scoring 23 points on 7-of-17 shooting from 3-point range to go with 7 assists in roughly 28 minutes. That's a heavy workload from deep, and it kept Paris afloat even as the offense sputtered in the second quarter, when the hosts managed just 12 points. T.J. Warren added 19 points on an efficient 8-of-11 clip on 2-point shots, with 3 steals, and Sebastian Herrera knocked down 4 of 6 from 3-point range for 12 points.

Wendell Moore Jr. added a well-rounded line of 14 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals, and Marcus Carr chipped in 11 points and 6 assists. Hapoel Tel Aviv pulls away from Besiktas with a third-quarter surge

Hapoel Tel Aviv needed a half to shake Besiktas Istanbul loose. The two sides traded blows early, with Hapoel up just 43-39 at the break after matching Besiktas 21-21 in the second quarter. Then the home team turned it on, outscoring the visitors 32-16 in the third quarter to blow the game open.
