Player Profile

As a child, Evan Mobley was reluctant to follow in his family's basketball footsteps. However, a spectacular growth spurt during his teenage years — already reaching 6'4" in eighth grade — changed everything, turning his initial hesitation into a consuming passion.

The son of Eric Mobley Sr., a former player and coach, and brother of Isaiah, also a professional, Evan grew up in an environment where basketball was ever-present. At Rancho Christian School in Temecula, he formed a formidable duo with his brother, quickly establishing himself as one of the most promising high school players in the country. His dominance was such that he became only the second player in history, after Jrue Holiday, to win the California Gatorade Player of the Year award two consecutive times.

Selected for the prestigious McDonald's All-American Game, Jordan Brand Classic, and Nike Hoop Summit — events canceled in 2020 due to the pandemic — Mobley continued his rise at USC. A single college season was enough to confirm his elite prospect status before joining the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA.

What sets this American big man apart is his exceptional defensive versatility and remarkable basketball IQ. These qualities, developed since childhood spent alongside his brother on the courts of San Diego, allow him to read the game with a maturity rare for his age. The big man continues to refine his offensive arsenal, promising even more exciting things in the years to come.
