The Chicago Bulls secured a character-building victory Thursday with a 120-115 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves. This third consecutive victory confirms the strong momentum of the Illinois team, which managed to overturn a compromised situation to extend their opponent’s losing streak.
Down by 14 points in the first period, the Bulls showed tremendous mental fortitude to fight back into the game. Coby White, who scored 22 points, was decisive in crucial moments with a clutch 3-pointer from the corner with 1 minute and 6 seconds remaining, keeping Chicago within striking distance with just a one-point deficit.
Josh Giddey also shined off the bench with his 21 points, providing the offensive impact needed to support the collective effort. The pair perfectly managed the pressure in a thrilling finish where every possession mattered.
On the Timberwolves side, Julius Randle delivered a remarkable performance with 30 points despite left foot pain that had placed him on the questionable list for this game. Anthony Edwards and Naz Reid each added 20 points, while Jaden McDaniels scored 16.
However, Minnesota failed to close out after leading 115-111 thanks to a 3-pointer from McDaniels. The Timberwolves then suffered a devastating 9-0 run in the final minute and 6 seconds, punctuated by costly turnovers. McDaniels lost the ball out of bounds, allowing Tre Jones to score a layup with 31.1 seconds on the clock.
Free throws by Jalen Smith with 11 seconds remaining sealed the game’s fate. This fourth consecutive loss represents the longest losing streak of the season for Minnesota, hampered by excessive fouls that gave the Bulls 33 free throw attempts (27 made) compared to just 15 for the Wolves.
