Player Profile
When Christian Braun lifted the NBA trophy with Denver in 2023, he joined an ultra-exclusive club: only four other players in history had won an NCAA title and an NBA title in back-to-back seasons. For this Kansas small forward, that exceptional feat seems almost written into his DNA.
Born into a basketball dynasty in the Midwest, Braun grew up surrounded by orange balls and squeaking hardwood floors. His parents, his brother Parker, his aunts and uncles — all of them played Division I college basketball, creating a family legacy so remarkable that the maternal side of the family is enshrined in the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame. That total immersion quickly forged a fierce competitor.
At Blue Valley Northwest High School, he turned that heritage into pure dominance: three consecutive Kansas state titles, capped by a phenomenal senior season averaging 27.8 points that earned him Mr. Kansas Basketball honors. His school even dedicated an official day in his honor on April 4, 2022.
With the Kansas Jayhawks, Braun refined his game over three seasons before breaking out during the 2022 NCAA championship run. His versatility and basketball IQ won over Denver's scouts, who made him the 21st overall pick in the draft. In his very first NBA season, he established himself as a valuable role player in the Nuggets' championship run.
Now an entrepreneur with his CB2 Collection fashion line, Braun embodies this new generation of multi-faceted athletes. At 22 years old, with two championship rings and an already exceptional résumé, this versatile forward appears destined for a career as rich as his family roots.
