Player Profile

When Aaron Gordon takes flight toward the basket, time seems to stand still. This ability to defy gravity built his reputation long before his NBA arrival, dating back to his years at Archbishop Mitty High School where he won two state titles and earned the California Mr. Basketball award in 2012 and 2013.

From a basketball family in San Jose, Gordon already excelled across multiple sports, combining basketball and athletics in high school. His explosive talent peaked at the 2013 McDonald's All-American Game, where he was named MVP, cementing his status as a national phenomenon.

After a standout season at the University of Arizona, leading the team to the Elite Eight of the 2014 NCAA Tournament, Gordon was selected fourth overall in the NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic. But it was in the dunk contest that the forward revealed his full aerial creativity, finishing as runner-up in 2016 and 2020 with spectacular performances that left a lasting impression.

The turning point of his career came in 2021 with his trade to the Denver Nuggets. Away from the spotlight of the dunk contest, Gordon finally found his perfect role: the ideal complement on a championship team. In 2023, he contributed decisively to the first NBA title in Nuggets history, proving that his impact went far beyond his acrobatic feats.

Committed to charitable work for children and proud of his mixed heritage including Osage roots, Gordon embodies modern versatility. His number 32 jersey retired by his former high school in 2020 stands as a testament to a career where showmanship and efficiency go hand in hand.
