Zaccharie Risacher is one of French basketball's biggest prospects. A tall wing player, excellent shooter, intelligent, particularly on defense, he is expected to be among the top picks in the 2024 NBA Draft.
After starting basketball at Elan Chalon where his father Stéphane, a former international player, was still playing, he continued his development in the Lyon region at Téo Basket then at LyonSO. At 15, Zaccharie Risacher joined ASVEL. Making his professional debut during his U17 season, he became the youngest player in EuroLeague history to start a game, on February 6, 2022, during T.J. Parker's team's match at Anadolu Efes Istanbul.
However, after winning a bronze medal at the U17 World Cup in Malaga, his role didn't increase to his liking in ASVEL's rotation. As a result, Zaccharie Risacher chose to be loaned to JL Bourg for his final year before the NBA Draft. This proved to be a wise decision given his performances in both Betclic ELITE and EuroCup. Regularly listed as the first pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, he also made his debut with the French senior national team on Friday, February 23 in Brest against Croatia. Just over a month later, he reached the EuroCup final and won the "Rising Star" trophy, awarded to the season's best young player.
