When Jerami Grant rises above the rim for a spectacular dunk, he carries on a family tradition spanning several generations. Born in Portland to Harvey and Beverly Grant, this 6'8" power forward grew up in an environment where basketball ran in the blood, with all three of his brothers sharing the same passion for the game.

At DeMatha Catholic High School in Maryland, Grant was already building his reputation with a scoring average of 12.5 points per game as a senior, enough to attract the attention of recruiters who ranked him 11th at his position. It was at Syracuse University that he truly revealed his potential, peaking in his sophomore year with averages of 12.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, a performance that earned him an All-ACC honorable mention in 2014.

His fast-break dunk against California that year, voted "Must See Moment" by the ACC Digital Network, perfectly captured his athletic explosiveness. That ability to turn decisive moments into pure spectacle convinced Grant to enter the NBA Draft after just two college seasons.

Selected 39th overall by Philadelphia in 2014, many doubted that a second-round pick could make it at the highest level. Grant proved them wrong by carving out a career that took him from Oklahoma City to Denver, then Detroit, before returning to his hometown with the Portland Trail Blazers. The crowning moment came at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, where he won gold with Team USA.
