The Portland Trail Blazers found their offensive rhythm in spectacular fashion Sunday night, dismantling the Indiana Pacers 131-111 behind a career-defining performance from second-year guard Scoot Henderson. The young playmaker torched Indiana’s defense for a season-high 28 points on an impressive 10-of-15 shooting display.

Henderson‘s efficiency was the story of the night, as he also contributed six assists without committing a single turnover. The performance showcased the development Portland has been hoping to see from their former lottery pick, who controlled the game’s tempo from start to finish.

Blazers fire on all cylinders with balanced attack

Portland received significant contributions across the roster, with Jerami Grant and Jrue Holiday each adding 21 points to complement Henderson‘s explosive night. The return of Deni Avdija provided another boost for the Blazers, as their leading scorer came back from a six-game absence due to a lower back injury to contribute 18 points and eight assists.

The Blazers seized control during a dominant second-quarter stretch, outscoring Indiana 25-7 over the final 5 1/2 minutes of the half. Henderson was instrumental in that run, scoring or assisting on 15 points while the Pacers managed just 2-of-11 shooting with three turnovers. By halftime, Henderson had already accumulated 19 points and five assists on 7-of-9 shooting, including 2-of-4 from 3-point range.

Pacers’ struggles continue amid defensive woes

The loss marked Indiana‘s ninth consecutive defeat, with the team dropping their past six games by an average of 20 points. This represents the Pacers‘ third losing streak of at least eight games this season, highlighting their ongoing consistency issues.

Pascal Siakam led Indiana’s scoring effort with 22 points, while Jay Huff provided a bright spot with 16 points and five blocks. Andrew Nembhard contributed 14 points and nine assists, and Jarace Walker also scored 14 points in the losing effort.

Despite the loss, Huff continued his impressive shot-blocking campaign, extending his NBA-leading total to 39 games this season with at least two blocks. However, Robert Williams III saw his active league-leading streak of 18 consecutive games with at least one block come to an end.

The Pacers will look to end their skid Tuesday when they wrap up their four-game road trip at Sacramento, while Portland hosts the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday night.
