Josh Hart: stats, last game & news

When Josh Hart nearly got expelled from high school due to academic struggles, few could have imagined he would one day hold a franchise record with the Knicks. Yet a petition from students and parents gave him a second chance at Sidwell Friends School, where he broke out with averages of 24.3 points and 13.4 rebounds per game as a senior.

That resilience perfectly defines the Maryland forward, who has turned every obstacle into a stepping stone. Earning the rank of Eagle Scout in 2013 — an exceptionally rare achievement among professional athletes — Hart continued his rise at Villanova, contributing to the 2016 NCAA championship alongside his friend Kris Jenkins, whom he had met through AAU basketball.

Selected 30th overall in the 2017 draft by Utah and immediately traded to the Lakers, Hart built his reputation on boundless energy and versatility. A tenacious defender and formidable rebounder, he passed through several franchises before finding his home in New York, where he now holds the record for the most triple-doubles in a single season in franchise history.

His impact extends beyond NBA courts. A member of the U.S. national team at the 2023 FIBA World Cup, Hart led his squad on the boards while cementing his status as a high-impact player. A committed philanthropist, he donated $10,000 to victims of the Napa Valley wildfires in 2020.

A father of twins since May 2023 and an avid Twitch gamer, Hart embodies the modern athlete, deeply connected to his community. With a storied family legacy — his great-uncle Elston Howard was a Yankees legend — and a fighter's mentality, Josh Hart continues to write a unique chapter in contemporary basketball.
