Player Profile

When Brandon Ingram steps onto the court, his 6'10" wingspan tells a story of perseverance forged in the gyms of North Carolina. The son of a college basketball referee, the forward grew up in an environment where every rule and every move was analyzed with precision.

At Kinston High School, Ingram turned that basketball education into pure dominance: four consecutive North Carolina state championships and the prestigious Mr. Basketball title. Under the guidance of Jerry Stackhouse, a former NBA player, he refined a unique playing style blending technical finesse with offensive versatility. His brother Donovan, also a college basketball player, remains a major influence on his development.

Just one season at Duke University was enough to make a statement: 17.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game. The Los Angeles Lakers selected him with the second overall pick in the 2016 draft, but it was in New Orleans, following the Anthony Davis trade in 2019, that Ingram truly unlocked his potential. He blossomed into an All-Star, cementing his reputation for consistent offensive improvement.

In 2023, he represented Team USA at the FIBA World Cup, contributing to a respectable fourth-place finish. His journey took a new turn in 2025 with his trade to the Toronto Raptors and a three-year, $120 million contract extension. Despite an ankle injury treated with PRP injections that delayed his debut, Ingram embodies patience rewarded and the ongoing evolution of a talent shaped by family-driven standards.
