At just 16 years old, Goga Bitadze was already making history by becoming the youngest player ever to play in the VTB United League with VITA Tbilisi. The 6'11" Georgian center was living out a childhood dream inspired by his compatriots Zaza Pachulia and Tornike Shengelia, as well as NBA legends Pau Gasol and Shaquille O'Neal.
His European journey took him from Georgia to Serbia, where he shone with Mega Basket. His standout performances earned him the MVP award of the Junior ABA League and a spot on the All-Tournament team in 2018. Loaned to Budućnost in Montenegro the following season, Bitadze confirmed his potential on the continental stage, making an impression in the EuroLeague and claiming the prestigious Rising Star trophy.
This rapid rise naturally caught the attention of NBA scouts. Selected 18th overall in the 2019 NBA Draft by the Indiana Pacers, he reached a milestone by joining the world's premier basketball league. At the same time, he had already been representing the Georgian national team since EuroBasket 2017, taking part in World Cup qualifiers.
In 2023, a new chapter began with his move to the Orlando Magic. For this son of a basketball player whose father saw his career cut short by injuries, every game is an opportunity to carry on the family legacy. Bitadze now embodies the ambitions of a Florida franchise looking to rebuild, armed with his European experience and the determination he forged from his teenage years.
