The Professional Basketball Writers Association has announced its 2025-2026 NBA All-Interview team, with Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs and Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors earning top honors. The award recognizes players who consistently demonstrate thoughtfulness, insight, and engagement in their media interactions.
Joining Wembanyama and Curry on the All-Interview first team are Kevin Durant of the Houston Rockets, Donovan Mitchell of the Cleveland Cavaliers, and Jaylen Brown of the Boston Celtics. The quintet emerged as the top vote-getters among PBWA members who evaluated players based on their media accessibility and the quality of their responses.
Second team features diverse group of standout communicators
The All-Interview second team showcases a compelling mix of personalities, featuring Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks, Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves, Draymond Green of the Warriors, Bam Adebayo of the Miami Heat, and Josh Hart of the New York Knicks.
« The NBA is a league of boundless talent and equally compelling personalities, » said PBWA president Howard Beck. « We’re grateful to the players who go the extra mile to make our stories more informative and illuminating. »
The selection process involved several dozen player nominations from PBWA members, ultimately narrowed to 28 finalists on the official ballot. The entire membership participated in voting, with players receiving two points for first-team votes and one point for second-team selections.
PBWA revives discontinued award to celebrate media cooperation
The All-Interview team represents a revival of a once-prominent NBA recognition that was discontinued after the 2003-2004 season. The PBWA brought back the award in 2025 as a way to honor players who consistently provide the insights, enthusiasm, and depth that enhance basketball storytelling while meeting or exceeding their mandated media obligations.
Among other players receiving votes were notable names including LeBron James of the Los Angeles Lakers, Cade Cunningham of the Detroit Pistons, Devin Booker of the Phoenix Suns, and rookie Kon Knueppel of the Charlotte Hornets, demonstrating the breadth of quality communicators across the league.
The PBWA, composed of more than 200 writers and editors covering the NBA and WNBA, will announce additional 2025-2026 honorees this week, including the Magic Johnson Award, Rudy Tomjanovich Award, and Brian McIntyre Award recipients.
