Player Profile

When your team is down to three players against five and you still drop 40 points, you become a legend in college basketball. That is exactly what Collin Sexton achieved during his time at the University of Alabama, a feat that perfectly captures his competitor's mindset.

Born on January 4, 1999, in Marietta, Georgia, Sexton started dribbling at the age of three. His rapid rise led him to Pebblebrook High School, which he guided all the way to the state championship final. Ranked as the second-best point guard in the class of 2017 and selected as a McDonald's All-American, he was already considered a five-star prospect.

His one season at Alabama confirmed his offensive potential with an average of 19.2 points per game, highlighted by that famous heroic performance and a decisive buzzer-beater during the SEC tournament. Those showings earned him the 8th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers, making him the highest-drafted Alabama player since 1995.

Nicknamed "Young Bull" for his no-nonsense style, Sexton quickly made his mark on the league with his scoring ability and his complete fearlessness against opposing defenses. After Cleveland, he joined the Utah Jazz in 2022 before continuing his career in Charlotte, where he is under contract through 2026.

Off the court, the point guard gives back to his community by organizing youth camps and fundraisers for those in need. Despite the injuries that have punctuated his professional journey, Sexton continues to demonstrate the resilience that has always defined him, promising many more great years in the NBA.
