A spectacular comeback fueled by 3-point shooting

The Pelicans had a difficult start to the game, committing eight turnovers in the first nine minutes. The Clippers took advantage to jump ahead 33-18, with Kawhi Leonard scoring 12 points during that stretch. Los Angeles even led by 18 points in the first quarter.

New Orleans’ response was built around their 3-point accuracy. The team finished 16-for-37 (43.2%) from beyond the arc, with Bey hitting 5 of his 10 attempts. Murphy crossed the 200 3-pointer mark for the season late in the third quarter, giving the Pelicans an 89-81 advantage.

The decisive turning point came with Murphy’s dunk over Brook Lopez following an Herb Jones steal, extending the lead to 117-101 with 4:43 remaining. New Orleans dominated the final minutes with leads of up to 20 points, confirming their rise in form.

For the Clippers, Leonard finished with 25 points and John Collins added 18 points, but it wasn’t enough. This loss drops Los Angeles below .500 (34-35), though the team holds the 8th spot in the Western Conference with a half-game lead over Portland. The two teams will meet again Thursday night in New Orleans for the rematch.
