Ayo Dosunmu confirms his rising form with 23 points and 9 rebounds in Minnesota's 147-111 victory over Utah, perfectly compensating for Anthony Edwards' absence.

The Minnesota Timberwolves delivered a remarkable offensive performance, defeating the Utah Jazz 147-111 on Wednesday in Minneapolis. This dominant victory was orchestrated by Ayo Dosunmu, who continues to impress as the starting replacement for Anthony Edwards.

Dosunmu confirms his excellence in Edwards’ absence

For his second consecutive game in the starting lineup, Ayo Dosunmu once again delivered with 23 points and 9 rebounds. The Timberwolves guard is making the most of the opportunity presented by Anthony Edwards‘ injury, who is dealing with right knee inflammation.

Minnesota announced Tuesday that Edwards would be out for one to two weeks before being re-evaluated. This absence hasn’t disrupted the Wolves, who are on a two-game winning streak after their 116-104 victory against Phoenix, where Julius Randle scored 32 points.

Rudy Gobert also shined with 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Julius Randle added 21 points and 8 assists. This collective performance demonstrates the Timberwolves’ roster depth.

Domination built from the second quarter

Although the game was balanced early with eight lead changes and three ties, Minnesota gradually took control. Trailing 28-27, the Timberwolves launched their offensive run with a 3-pointer by Bones Hyland at 2:22 remaining in the first quarter, starting a decisive 8-0 run.

The Wolves extended their lead to 72-58 at halftime, before pulling away definitively in the second half. Their advantage reached 38 points in the fourth quarter, illustrating their total dominance.

On Utah’s side, Brice Sensabaugh was the lone bright spot with 41 points, just two short of his career high. Ace Bailey added 17 points, but it wasn’t enough to avoid a fourth consecutive loss for the Jazz, who have now lost 12 of their last 14 games. This defeat also concluded a disappointing three-game road trip without a win for Utah.

Minnesota thus wins three of four matchups this season against the Jazz and confirms their good momentum despite Edwards’ absence.
