Dubai is ready to acquire Tornike Shengelia from FC Barcelona.

As anticipated by Ernest Macià and confirmed to BeBasket, the deal is done. A buyout of nearly €1 million for the Catalan club and a multi-year contract for Tornike Shengelia.

The Georgian strongly supported this move, convinced of Dubai’s potential to win the EuroLeague this season.

Tornike « Toko » Shengelia is a Georgian power forward known for his toughness, versatility, and leadership. After developing with Valencia Basket, he played in Belgium before spending time in the NBA with the Brooklyn Nets and Chicago Bulls. Shengelia became one of Europe’s top forwards during six successful seasons with Baskonia, winning the 2020 ACB League title and earning All-EuroLeague First Team honors in 2018. He later played for CSKA Moscow and Virtus Bologna, where he won the EuroCup in 2022 and the Italian League title in 2025, before joining FC Barcelona. A long-time captain of the Georgian national team, Shengelia is widely regarded as one of the best European forwards of his generation.
