[Video] Adam Atamna’s exceptional performance (24 points at age 17) against Monaco

Betclic ELITE - At just 17 years old, Adam Atamna shined Sunday evening against Monaco. The young ASVEL guard scored 24 points in Villeurbanne's defeat (98-102), confirming all the potential seen in recent months and reminding why he's already projected for the 2026 NBA Draft.

Two days after being discussed in the Courtside podcast as one of the most promising young French players, Adam Atamna (1.95m, 17 years old) delivered a remarkable performance at the Astroballe. Against Monaco’s powerhouse, the son of Karim Atamna – former Pro B standout and NM1 MVP in 2009-2010 – led ASVEL with composure and precision: 24 points on 7/13 shooting (4/8 from 3-point range), 2 assists and 1 rebound in 25 minutes.

Already impressive before halftime (14 points on 5/6 shooting), the young guard helped build a significant lead (56-41). However, despite this successful first half, the second half turned in Monaco’s favor, led by an once again unstoppable Mike James.

« We must use this to grow »

« There’s obviously frustration but regarding commitment, there’s not much to say to the players. We faced some great players in the second half and particularly one who made the difference by himself, namely Mike James. This week has been difficult because we faced Nunn, Edwards and James. With our weapons, we did much of what we wanted to do and we must use this to grow, » commented Pierric Poupet in Le Progrès.

Without Thomas Heurtel, Shaquille Harrison or Edwin Jackson, and with Zac Seljaas quickly in foul trouble, ASVEL still held on until the end (98-97 with 1:26 remaining) before falling short. Frustrating, but full of lessons.

Adam Atamna, a name to remember

A member of the French U18 national team this summer, Adam Atamna continues to impress with his maturity. Calm, clear-headed and technically sound, he confirms match after match that he is one of the most promising French guards of his generation.

His performance against Monaco could mark a turning point: at just 17 years old, the young Villeurbanne native proved he could already shine against a EuroLeague team. Watch his game highlights in the following tweet:
