Player Profile

When Keldon Johnson steps onto an NBA court, he carries with him the legacy of a family where sports run in the blood. Born in Chesterfield, Virginia, in a household where his father Chris and his brothers Kaleb and Kyle were already involved in the sports world, the forward grew up knowing that excellence was not an option but a family tradition.

His path to the top began to take shape in high school, first at Park View High School and then at the prestigious Oak Hill Academy. There, Johnson put up outstanding numbers as a senior — averaging 20.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 2.2 steals per game — performances that earned him the Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year award and invitations to both the McDonald's All-American Game and the Jordan Brand Classic.

After a strong season at Kentucky, where he averaged 13.5 points and 5.9 rebounds per game while studying agriculture, Johnson made the leap to the pros in 2019. Selected 29th overall by the San Antonio Spurs, he quickly carved out a role in the Texas rotation and gradually became one of the team's primary scorers.

The highlight of his early career came at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, where he won a gold medal with Team USA. Away from basketball, Johnson nurtures his passion for fishing and hunting — activities that keep him connected to his rural Virginia roots. With his brother Kaleb also having entered the NBA Draft through the G League after Georgetown, the Johnsons continue to write their collective basketball story.
