From a family of athletes of Jamaican descent, Julian grew up in the sporting shadow of his father Ranford, a national football champion with St. John's University in 1996. This athletic heritage was passed down to the Champagnie twins, both of whom followed in their father's footsteps to St. John's, before achieving the ultimate dream: entering the NBA at the same time.
At Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School, Julian established himself as an offensive leader, averaging 17.2 points per game in his senior year while leading his team to an impressive 23-4 record. This steady progression naturally led him to St. John's University, where he shone in the Red Storm jersey from 2019 to 2022, carrying on the family tradition at this New York institution.
Beyond his on-court performances, Julian embodies the family values that shaped him. Surrounded by his loved ones, including his younger brother Jaylen and his partner Cassidy, he draws his strength from these unbreakable bonds that have accompanied him from Brooklyn to the NBA.
