The New York Knicks secured their eighth consecutive victory with a 134-127 win over the Denver Nuggets after two overtimes at Madison Square Garden. The performance was led by an exceptional Jalen Brunson, who recorded 42 points, 9 assists and 8 rebounds.
Brunson takes control in second overtime
This winning streak by the Knicks, who had previously shown an average margin of 24.7 points during their last seven victories, took a very different turn against Denver. Neither team managed to build a double-digit lead in this thriller where both teams traded blows throughout.
Karl-Anthony Towns contributed 24 points and 12 rebounds, despite wearing a bandage over his right eye following a collision with Spencer Jones in the first quarter. Injured and bloodied, Towns had to temporarily leave the court before returning to finish the game. His fouling out in the first overtime left the door open for Brunson to take matters into his own hands.
The Knicks guard scored the first six points of the second overtime, definitively sealing the outcome of the game. OG Anunoby also contributed to this victory with 20 points.

Jokic and Murray not enough for Denver
On the Denver side, Jamal Murray fought hard with 39 points, while Nikola Jokic recorded his first triple-double since returning from a knee injury last week: 30 points, 14 rebounds and 10 assists. Despite these remarkable individual performances, the Nuggets suffered their third consecutive loss after defeats to conference leaders Oklahoma City and Detroit.
The end of the first overtime was particularly cruel for Denver. While the Knicks seemed to have secured their victory after a missed 3-pointer by Murray in the final seconds, officials called a foul on Mikal Bridges against Christian Braun before time expired. Braun converted both free throws with 0.3 seconds on the clock to tie it at 119-119.
Injuries also complicated matters for the Nuggets, with Peyton Watson (right leg injury) and Spencer Jones leaving the game. Denver will travel to Chicago, while the Knicks will face Detroit as they attempt to extend their winning streak.
