Player Profile
When Spencer Jones steps onto NBA courts, few would guess he holds a record that could stand for decades at Stanford: 146 games played in a Cardinal uniform, the most in the history of the California university.
The Kansas forward built his reputation on consistency and versatility. Back in high school at Bishop Miege, Jones established himself as a natural leader, guiding his team to three consecutive state titles with impressive stats in his senior year: 18.8 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals and 2.5 blocks per game. That ability to excel in every aspect of the game became his trademark.
At Stanford, Jones turned that versatility into an art form. Over five seasons, he refined his three-point shooting until he became the greatest long-range shooter in Cardinal history with 315 made threes. But beyond the numbers, it was his defensive presence and leadership qualities that left a lasting impression on campus.
Undrafted in the 2024 NBA Draft, Jones refused to give up. His convincing performance in the Summer League with Portland opened the doors to Denver, which offered him a two-way contract with the Nuggets and their G League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Gold. The renewal of that contract in July 2025 reflects the confidence placed in this hard-working player.
At 24 years old, Spencer Jones embodies the perseverance of a basketball player who turns every obstacle into a stepping stone, armed with a dangerous outside shot and defensive versatility.
