Tyrese Maxey shines with 29 points in 76ers victory over Clippers

The Philadelphia 76ers dominated the Los Angeles Clippers 128-113 Monday night in Inglewood, securing their fourth consecutive victory. Tyrese Maxey was the main architect of this win with 29 points, including seven successful three-pointers.

Maxey and Barlow carry Sixers’ offense

Alongside Maxey, Dominick Barlow delivered a remarkable performance with 26 points and 16 rebounds, confirming his rise this season. Joel Embiid also contributed with 24 points, continuing his physical progression after his right ankle injury.

The Maxey-Barlow-Embiid trio particularly shined in the third quarter, combining for 22 points. Despite a less favorable stretch where they were outscored 34-28 in that period, the 76ers maintained their comfortable lead at 100-87.

Philadelphia controlled the game throughout, opening a maximum lead of 23 points before heading to the locker room with a 19-point advantage (72-53). This victory brings the Sixers’ record to 11 wins and 10 losses without Paul George, who is currently serving a 25-game suspension for violating the NBA‘s anti-drug program.

Clippers without Harden

On the Los Angeles side, Kawhi Leonard led the offensive charge with 29 points, supported by Jordan Miller who added 21 points off the bench. Leonard tried to rally his team late in the game with two dunks and a three-pointer in the fourth quarter, but the Clippers couldn’t string together enough to get back into the game.

The Clippers had to manage without James Harden, absent for the second consecutive game for personal reasons. Coach Tyronn Lue specified before the game that Harden was at his home in Phoenix.

Despite this defeat, Los Angeles maintains an encouraging record of 8 wins and 3 losses over their last 11 games, remaining in the race for a play-in qualification. The 76ers will play Tuesday night against the Golden State Warriors, while the Clippers will host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday.
