The Philadelphia 76ers delivered a remarkable offensive performance Tuesday night, winning 139-122 against a weakened Milwaukee Bucks team. Paul George led the charge with 32 points, while Joel Embiid dominated the first quarter with 18 of his 29 points.
This victory comes after a heavy 130-93 defeat the previous day in Charlotte, where the Sixers trailed by 50 points before the final quarter. Embiid and George, rested during that game for injury management, brought the necessary energy for the team’s return home.
For Milwaukee, Myles Turner delivered his best performance in a Bucks jersey with 31 points on 62.5% shooting. Ryan Rollins added 24 points, while Bobby Portis contributed 17 points and 12 rebounds. However, the absence of Giannis Antetokounmpo, sidelined with a right calf injury for an indefinite period, was sorely felt.
The Bucks showed resistance for three quarters, even managing to tie the game at 81 in the third period thanks to the Turner-Portis-Rollins trio. Coach Doc Rivers’ use of zone defense had temporarily disrupted the 76ers’ offense.
The turning point of the game came at the start of the fourth quarter. George hit two consecutive 3-pointers to extend Philadelphia’s lead from 11 to 18 points. Jared McCain and George then combined for four 3-pointers in two minutes, definitively stretching the gap to 123-104.
George finished the game with 11 made shots on 21 attempts, including a remarkable 9/15 from 3-point range. Embiid completed his stat line with nine rebounds and five assists. Tyrese Maxey also contributed with 22 points, notably finding Embiid for a spectacular dunk in the first half.
This third consecutive defeat for Milwaukee (sixth in seven games) illustrates the team’s difficulties without their two-time MVP. The 76ers dominated the offensive rebounding battle (15-8) and better protected the ball with only six turnovers compared to 11 for the Bucks.
