Shorts, Maledon, James, Diallo and Thompson make up the 2024-2025 season’s best five

The National Basketball League has revealed the all-star five for the 2024-2025 Betclic ELITE season. Reigning MVP and favorite to retain the title, T.J. Shorts shares this lineup with two other point guards, AS Monaco’s Mike James and ASVEL’s Théo Maledon, as well as Roca Team’s forward Alpha Diallo and SLUC Nancy’s center Shevon Thompson.

The three efficiency rating leaders in the five, joined by two Monaco players
Paris Basketball’s point guard, second in the championship with the same record as ASVEL, T.J. Shorts leads in efficiency rating (20.5) followed by Shevon Thompson (19), Nancy’s center (9th), and Maledon (17.5 in 25 minutes). As for Mike James, he played a significant role this season in the French championship (13.6 efficiency rating in less than 24 minutes over 17 games) while his teammate Alpha Diallo was elected defensive player of the season.
This five seems logical even though Jeremiah Hill (Chalon) or Nadir Hifi, the championship’s top scorer, could have earned a spot.
