Shevon Thompson

Shevon Thompson is a Jamaican center playing for SLUC Nancy in Betclic ELITE. Born in Clarendon Parish, he grew up in Jamaica playing basketball. It wasn't until the end of high school that he was pushed into basketball due to his height. This allowed him to attract attention in the United States, and Shevon Thompson attended two Junior Colleges (JuCo) before joining the George Mason Patriots in NCAA between 2014 and 2016.

Drafted 33rd in the G-League, he spent two years in the NBA's development league before starting his European journey with Istanbul BB in 2018. The experience was short-lived and he eventually returned to play a third season in the G-League. It was finally in 2019-2020 that Shevon Thompson experienced his first real season in European basketball with Ostende. Performing very well (13.5 points and 10.1 rebounds) with the Belgian championship leader when the season was stopped due to COVID-19 (and even declared champion), he convinced ALBA Berlin to offer him a contract. This wasn't renewed after a month of collaboration and the former Midland and Harcum JuCo player split his 2020-2021 season between Fuenlabrada (Spain) and Bamberg (Germany).

After returning for one season in the G-League with Ontario, Shevon Thompson discovered the French championship. Although effective with Fos Provence, he couldn't prevent the BYers' relegation to Pro B. However, Nancy recruited him and made him one of the very best centers in Betclic ELITE.
