The Poissy Basket will indeed play in NM1 next season. The Paris region club announced this weekend its maintenance in the French third division. After a difficult season sportwise, this administrative maintenance allows the club to start a new era under Joseph Kalambani’s leadership. The former Besançon coach, who recently worked at Rouen‘s youth academy (Elite 2), takes charge of a completely renewed roster.

Off-court maintenance, a project to rebuild

Poissy hadn’t secured their NM1 spot through sporting results, but the championship’s administrative situation and some clubs’ withdrawals allowed PBA to keep their place. The club made it official Saturday on social media: « The club is very happy to announce that we will continue playing in NM1 next season. GO PBA ».

This maintenance is an opportunity to turn the page. No player from the 2024-2025 season will be retained. The club is therefore starting from scratch, with new staff and new momentum.

Joseph Kalambani at the helm of the project

To lead this new cycle, Poissy has chosen Joseph Kalambani. The former Besançon coach in NM1, who recently served as head of Rouen’s youth academy, takes control of the first team. With his experience in youth development and NM1 level, Kalambani arrives with a clear project based on youth and development.

Recruitment focuses on young players, often from the Paris region. The club remains on the lookout for good market opportunities, betting on energy, local identity, and growth potential.
