The Real Madrid basketball officially announced on Monday the departure of their Bosnian star Dzanan Musa. In a statement, the Madrid club announced that « our basketball player Dzanan Musa has terminated his contract with the club« , thanking the 26-year-old player for his « commitment » and « dedication » during the last three seasons.

The Bosnian international wing has signed with Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates, on a three-year contract. According to Spanish media, this ten million euro offer over three years was impossible to refuse for the 6’9″ player.

An exceptional record at Real Madrid

Since his arrival in 2022, Dzanan Musa has established himself as one of the most consistent players on the European scene. With Real Madrid, he won six major titles, including the EuroLeague in 2023, two Liga Endesa (2024 and 2025) and a Copa del Rey in 2024. He also contributed to victories in Supercopa Endesa in 2022 and 2023.

Named MVP of the Spanish championship finals in 2024, Musa posted solid statistics in his final Madrid season. In EuroLeague, he averaged 12.2 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game over 35 appearances. In Liga Endesa, his averages were 12.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.

Emotional farewell before a new challenge

On his Instagram account, Dzanan Musa expressed his gratitude to the Madrid club: « The time has come to say goodbye. It has been three years of high-level basketball, filled with unforgettable victories and titles (…) Thank you to all the supporters who have supported me. This city and this club will always be part of me. »

Having played in the NBA with the Brooklyn Nets between 2018 and 2020, the Bosnian had already tasted European success by winning the EuroLeague with Anadolu Efes in 2021. His transfer to Dubai marks a new chapter in his career, joining an ambitious franchise that will compete in the EuroLeague for the next five seasons.
