The Phoenix Suns dominated the Brooklyn Nets 126-117 Monday night at Barclays Center, in a game marked by exceptional long-range shooting. With 20 three-pointers made on 39 attempts (51%), Phoenix delivered one of their best offensive performances of the season.

Dillon Brooks led the charge with 27 points, perfectly supported by Devin Booker (23 points) and Collin Gillespie (22 points). This victory gives the Suns a record of 26 wins and 17 losses and marks their fifth win in the last seven games.

Offensive dominance despite a Nets comeback

Phoenix took command from the first quarter, leading 40-26 after twelve minutes of play thanks to a red-hot Brooks (3/3 from three-point range). The team maintained their lead at halftime (72-68) despite a surge by the Nets at the end of the second period.

Jordan Ott’s squad extended their lead to 20 points in the first half and still led by 17 points with 9 minutes remaining. But Brooklyn never gave up, orchestrating an impressive 19-6 run capped by Noah Clowney who cut the deficit to four points (118-114) with four minutes to go.

Phoenix’s response was immediate: Brooks nailed a crucial three-pointer, followed by a three from Royce O’Neale assisted by Grayson Allen (124-115) that definitively sealed the outcome.

For the Nets, Michael Porter Jr. finished as the leading scorer with 23 points, while Clowney (16 points) and Ziaire Williams (15 points) contributed. Williams, returning after a week-long absence due to illness, expressed gratitude: « I’m just grateful to be here. I woke up one morning feeling good, then I got sick. It was a reminder that everything can be taken from you at any moment. »

This loss confirms Brooklyn’s current struggles, having won only one of their last eight games and now posting a record of 12 wins and 29 losses. The Suns, meanwhile, sit in sixth place in the Western Conference, tied with the Lakers, and could welcome back Jalen Green as early as Tuesday against the Philadelphia 76ers.
