Omer Yurtseven signs 10-day contract with Golden State Warriors
The Golden State Warriors have officially signed Omer Yurtseven to a 10-day contract, according to the player’s agents who spoke to Shams Charania of ESPN. This signing comes at a difficult time for the California franchise, facing several injuries at the center position.
An experienced veteran to fill the gaps
The 6’11 » Turkish center brings his NBA experience gained over three seasons with the Miami Heat (2021-22 and 2022-23) and the Utah Jazz (2023-24). During that period, Yurtseven averaged 5.0 points and 4.6 rebounds in 11.8 minutes of playing time per game.
Before joining the Warriors, the Turkish international was playing in Euroleague before joining the NBA G League last week. This short-term signing fills an urgent need for Golden State, which is dealing with injuries and physical setbacks in its frontcourt.

The Warriors are facing roster problems at the center position after Al Horford’s early exit during Friday’s loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves. The veteran is suffering from a calf strain according to Anthony Slater of ESPN.
This challenging situation explains the Warriors’ urgency to recruit Yurtseven, even temporarily. The Turkish center will have the opportunity to prove his worth and potentially earn a longer contract if his performances convince Golden State’s coaching staff.
