The San Antonio Spurs continue to fill out their training camp roster by signing Adam Flagler. The 25-year-old guard arrives in Texas with a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 contract, after two seasons with the Oklahoma City Thunder where he won a championship in 2025.

An Elite Shooter Trained at Baylor

Flagler is a 6’3″ combo guard who started his college career at Presbyterian before transferring to Baylor. During his three years with the Bears, he distinguished himself by winning the NCAA championship in 2020-2021 and sharing the locker room with Jeremy Sochan during the 2021-2022 season.

His main strength remains his 3-point shooting. Flagler finished his college career with a 39.6% success rate from long range, an efficiency that was confirmed in the G League with 42% accuracy on his outside attempts. In two seasons with the Thunder organization, he averaged 15.6 points per game over 34 G League games, while maintaining 40% accuracy from 3-point range.

A Tough Challenge to Make the Roster

Despite his shooting abilities, Flagler faces a significant challenge to secure a spot on the Spurs’ final roster. The team already has 14 guaranteed spots out of the 15 allowed, and all three two-way contracts are filled with Harrison Ingram, Riley Minix, and David Jones Garcia.

Competition will be fierce at the guard position, particularly with Lindy Waters III, Flagler’s former teammate who has a partial guarantee on his contract and offers a similar profile with more length. Coach Mark Daigneault had highlighted Flagler’s qualities during his time in Oklahoma City: « He doesn’t make many mistakes. He has gravitational pull because of his shooting. He does what’s asked of him: being reliable on defense and hunting his shots on offense. »

Although his chances of making the final roster are slim, Flagler brings winning experience and spacing ability, qualities valued in the Spurs’ system led by Victor Wembanyama.
