The Boston Celtics dominated the Dallas Mavericks 110-100 on Tuesday night, powered by an exceptional performance from Jaylen Brown who posted 33 points and 11 rebounds. This victory hands the Mavericks their fifth consecutive loss, their worst streak of the season.
Cooper Flagg continues to make history at just 19 years old
Even in the loss, Cooper Flagg stood out, scoring 36 points in his first game against the team he grew up following. Boston, the NBA franchise closest to his hometown of Newport, Maine — roughly 200 miles south — provided a fitting backdrop for another step in his early rise.
The 19-year-old rookie, the No. 1 overall pick, became the first teenager to record three consecutive 30-point games. The performance came five days after he set the NBA record for points by a player under 20, scoring 49 against Charlotte. He rounded out the night with nine rebounds and six assists.

A victory built on an efficient collective effort
Payton Pritchard added 26 points for Boston, which played without Anfernee Simons. Simons had been dealt earlier in the day to Chicago as part of a trade for Nikola Vucevic, according to a source familiar with the situation.
Luka Garza provided the separation late in the third quarter, knocking down three straight triples as part of a 14–4 run that pushed Boston out to an 86–67 lead. He finished a perfect 4-for-4 from deep, scoring 16 points in 20 minutes.
The groundwork was laid earlier. Payton Pritchard scored 15 first-half points on 7-of-10 shooting, and Boston took control midway through the opening quarter when Jaylen Brown tied the game and then put the Celtics ahead with consecutive threes. From there, the lead only grew, peaking at 23 in the second half.
For Dallas, Daniel Gafford posted a 10-point, 12-rebound double-double despite aggravating a right ankle injury that has already cost him 16 games this season. Caleb Martin added 13 points, 11 of them coming in the first half.
