Fenerbahce Beko continues its dominant run in EuroLeague play. The Istanbul club secured its eighth consecutive victory with a hard-fought 81-78 win over Partizan at home, strengthening its grip on the league’s top position. With one game still in hand, the Turkish side now boasts 21 wins this season.
The contest began as an evenly matched affair, with both teams trading baskets throughout the opening period. Neither side managed to establish early control, and the first quarter ended in a 20-20 deadlock, setting the tone for what would become a back-and-forth battle.
Partizan takes control before Fenerbahce fights back
Partizan found its rhythm in the second quarter, responding to a brief 4-0 Fenerbahce run with stronger offensive production. The Serbian visitors moved ahead midway through the period and carried that momentum into the break, taking a 39-35 lead into halftime.
The third quarter saw Fenerbahce Beko gradually claw its way back into contention. Strong performances from the team’s guards helped neutralize Partizan’s advantage, while the visitors struggled with consecutive turnovers. The hosts drew level at 45-45 in the 26th minute, initiating a phase where the lead changed hands repeatedly. As the quarter concluded, Fenerbahce managed to string together more efficient possessions, taking a narrow 57-56 advantage into the final period.
Clutch performances seal the victory
Backed by enthusiastic home support, Fenerbahce Beko came out aggressively in the fourth quarter. Contributions from Tarik Biberovic and Talen Horton-Tucker helped the hosts establish a small cushion, while improved defensive pressure disrupted Partizan‘s offensive flow. The Istanbul side led 66-60 at the midway point of the quarter, though Partizan responded with a scoring run to keep the outcome uncertain.
With Fenerbahce holding a 71-67 lead entering the final two and a half minutes, the closing moments became a tightly contested exchange. Horton-Tucker and Biberovic maintained their composure at the free-throw line during the final seconds, allowing the home team to secure the 81-78 victory.
