The Golden State Warriors dominated the Memphis Grizzlies 133-112 Wednesday night, in a matchup where both teams were missing numerous starters. Will Richard led the offensive charge with 21 points, while eight of the nine players used by Golden State reached double figures.

Brandin Podziemski and Gary Payton II each added 19 points to the Warriors’ cause, followed by Gui Santos with 17 units. Only Malevy Leons failed to reach 10 points, finishing with 9. This offensive depth allowed the Warriors to build a comfortable lead from the first half.

A victory built on a decisive second quarter run

Golden State took control of the game thanks to a devastating 29-8 run in the middle of the second quarter. This sequence extended the lead to 63-39, allowing the Warriors to reach halftime with a comfortable 74-53 advantage. The gap widened further in the second half, reaching up to 32 points in the final quarter.

On the Memphis side, GG Jackson tried to keep his team afloat with 24 points and 8 rebounds, supported by Ty Jerome (22 points, 5 assists) and Javon Small (16 points). But these individual efforts were not enough against the Warriors’ ball mouvement offense.

This defeat drops the Grizzlies to 12th place in the Western Conference, tied with Dallas Mavericks. Memphis has been going through a difficult period since late January, with 12 losses in their last 15 games. The Warriors, for their part, occupy 8th position in the West and continue to fight for their playoff spot.

Injuries significantly impacted both rosters, with notable absences like Stephen Curry, Draymond Green and Jimmy Butler for the Warriors, while Ja Morant, Zach Edey and Cedric Coward were missing for Memphis. Kyle Anderson was also declared out for personal reasons one hour before the game.

Golden State will host the Lakers on Saturday, while Memphis will begin a three-game road trip by traveling to Dallas on Friday.
