The Charlotte Hornets delivered a remarkable offensive display, defeating the Chicago Bulls 131-99 on Tuesday night. This victory marks an eighth consecutive road win for Charlotte, establishing a new franchise record that demonstrates the team’s excellent current form.

Brandon Miller led the Hornets’ attack with 23 points, supported by rookie sensation Kon Knueppel who added 21 points. Charlotte’s team showed remarkable shooting accuracy with 51.6% field goal percentage, but it was especially their 3-point performance that made the difference with 25 three-pointers made on 57 attempts, just one shot shy of the franchise record.

A French Duel

This matchup was an opportunity to see two Frenchmen in the paint. Despite the blowout, Guerschon Yabusele started in the Bulls’ starting five and showed well with over 26 minutes of playing time for 11 points on 66% shooting, 4 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals. For his part, Moussa Diabaté delivered a complete performance without forcing the game with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists.

Knueppel Makes History with Speed Record

LaMelo Ball and Miles Bridges each contributed 16 points, with Bridges making his return after a suspension. The turning point of the game came in the third quarter, where Charlotte dominated Chicago 42-16, including a decisive 22-2 run that sealed the outcome of the matchup.

Kon Knueppel particularly shined by hitting three 3-pointers on six attempts, bringing his total to 201 three-pointers made. In just 58 games, he becomes the fastest player in history to reach 200 three-pointers made, a record that highlights his immediate impact in the NBA.

On Chicago’s side, Matas Buzelis recorded his career high with 32 points, but the Bulls suffered their tenth consecutive loss, tying their longest losing streak since January 2019. Chicago’s 19 turnovers greatly facilitated the Hornets’ task, who capitalized on these opposing errors.

Coby White made his Hornets debut against his former team, scoring 10 points in 15 minutes and 33 seconds of play. The guard was greeted with a tribute video in Chicago, where he had played for six and a half seasons before being traded recently.
