Devin Booker delivered a huge performance with 30 points and 10 assists to guide the Phoenix Suns to a 111-99 victory over the Charlotte Hornets on Sunday night. This win ends the impressive 10-game road winning streak of the Hornets, which was the longest active streak in the NBA.

The Suns guard showed his efficiency at the free-throw line by converting all 15 attempts, compensating for a difficult 3-point night where he made only one shot out of six. Collin Gillespie and Jalen Green also shined with 24 points each, while Rasheer Fleming contributed 16 valuable points off the bench, including four 3-pointers.

A Historic Streak Broken for Charlotte

The Hornets’ 10-game road winning streak was the longest in the NBA since the Los Angeles Lakers strung together 11 road victories in 2019-2020. Charlotte hadn’t lost on the road since January 17 against the Golden State Warriors. For reference, the longest road winning streak in NBA history remains held by the 1971-1972 Lakers with 16 consecutive wins, during their record 33-game overall winning streak.

LaMelo Ball led the Hornets’ offense with 22 points, supported by Miles Bridges (16 points), Kon Knueppel (15 points) and Brandon Miller (11 points, all scored in the first half). Despite going 2 for 8 from 3-point range in this game, rookie Kon Knueppel continues to lead the league with 224 made 3-pointers this season.

This loss marks the beginning of a four-game road trip for Charlotte. Despite this setback and Friday’s home loss to Miami, the Hornets boast an impressive 16-5 record over their last 21 games, illustrating their remarkable turnaround after a disastrous 4-14 start to the season.

Phoenix, playing their last home game before six consecutive road games, has won three of their last four games. The Suns had to play without starters Dillon Brooks (hand fracture) and Mark Williams (foot fracture), as well as Grayson Allen, who is dealing with a right knee injury.
