The Miami Heat kept their momentum rolling Sunday night, beating the Detroit Pistons 121–110 to extend their winning streak to five games. The victory pushes Miami to 36–29 on the season, matching its best mark of the year at seven games over .500.
Tyler Herro paced the offense with 25 points, while Bam Adebayo turned in an all-around performance with 24 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. More notably, Adebayo surpassed the 10,000-point mark in a Heat uniform, becoming just the second player in franchise history — alongside Dwyane Wade — to reach that milestone with Miami.

Total domination from the first quarter
Miami took control of the game very early, already leading by 18 points at the end of the first quarter. The Pistons even trailed by 25 points in the first half, their largest deficit before halftime this season. The Heat maintained a double-digit lead for the final 38 minutes and 27 seconds of play.
Jaime Jaquez Jr. also contributed to this victory with 19 points and 7 assists. On Detroit’s side, Cade Cunningham finished with 26 points and 10 assists, while Jalen Duren added 24 points, but these individual performances were not enough to prevent the Pistons’ fourth consecutive loss.
The decisive moment came midway through the third quarter. After Marcus Sasser missed a 3-pointer that could have brought Detroit within 15 points, Tyler Herro took matters into his own hands by hitting three 3-pointers in the span of 1 minute and 51 seconds, extending Miami’s lead to 93-66 and definitively sealing the outcome of the game.
This victory allows the Heat to win the season series against the Pistons 2-1, becoming the first Eastern Conference team to do so this season. Both teams will play again quickly: Detroit will travel to Brooklyn on Tuesday, while Miami will host Washington the same day.
