NBA Commissioner Adam Silver officially announced Tuesday the selection of Brandon Ingram to replace Stephen Curry at the 2026 All-Star Game. The Toronto Raptors forward joins Team USA Stripes after the Golden State Warriors guard’s withdrawal due to a knee injury that doctors call « runner’s knee ».
A renaissance with the Raptors rewarded with a second selection
At 28, Brandon Ingram is experiencing a true renaissance since arriving in Toronto. The Raptors’ leading scorer this season with 22.0 points, 5.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game in 52 games, he has propelled his team to 5th place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 32 wins and 22 losses.

This second All-Star selection, six years after his first in 2020 with the New Orleans Pelicans, validates his successful adaptation in Canada. « I’m very happy I made the decision to come to Toronto. It allowed me to develop my game, especially on defense, » Ingram shared. « Darko (Rajakovic) pushed me to improve defensively, on the ball and off the ball, using my size. Offensively, I’m being efficient. I’ve been able to show what I’m capable of. »
Ingram’s impact on the Raptors’ offense has been decisive, allowing his teammate Scottie Barnes, also an All-Star selection, to focus on defense and playmaking. This distribution of roles has elevated Toronto to heights not reached since the early 2020s.
An unprecedented USA vs World format at Intuit Dome
The 2026 All-Star Game will take place Sunday, February 15 at Intuit Dome in Inglewood with a revolutionary format pitting the United States against the rest of the world. Ingram will play for Team USA Stripes alongside LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, Donovan Mitchell, Jaylen Brown, Jalen Brunson and Norman Powell.
Team USA Stars will include Scottie Barnes, Devin Booker, Anthony Edwards and Chet Holmgren, while Team World will be led by Victor Wembanyama, Nikola Jokic, Luka Doncic and Giannis Antetokounmpo. This three-team elimination tournament promises an unprecedented spectacle for this 75th edition of the All-Star Game.
