The NBA released the full roster for the 2026 All-Star Game on Sunday, with the event set for February 15 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. Among the reserves, LeBron James extended his own record with a 22nd consecutive All-Star selection, continuing to add to a résumé that now includes this milestone at age 41.

Six First-Timers for a New Generation of Stars

The 2026 edition will mark the arrival of six new faces at the All-Star Game. In the East, Jalen Duren rewards Detroit‘s strong season as conference leaders, while Norman Powell shines with the Miami Heat and Jalen Johnson carries Atlanta. In the West, Jamal Murray will finally make his debut after a long wait, becoming the first teammate of Nikola Jokic to be an All-Star in the same year as him. Chet Holmgren, a key piece of the defending champion Thunder, and Deni Avdija, phenomenal with Portland this season, complete this group of first-timers.

Kevin Durant earns his 16th selection, the fourth-best total in history, confirming his longevity at the highest level. The two future Hall of Famers, Durant and James, will come off the bench this year, giving way to the starters in their respective conferences.

A New USA vs. The World Format

This 2026 edition will inaugurate a new format with three teams: two composed of American players and one of international players. The international team will feature Giannis Antetokounmpo (injured, he will be replaced), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Luka Dončić, Victor Wembanyama, Nikola Jokic, Pascal Siakam, Deni Avdija, and Jamal Murray.

The tournament will be played in rounds with four 12-minute games each. The top two teams will then face off in a final. This format change aims to revive interest and competitiveness in an event often criticized for its lack of defensive intensity.

Among the notable absences are Kawhi Leonard, Alperen Sengun, Joel Embiid, James Harden, and Bam Adebayo. The Los Angeles Clippers, who are hosting the event in their arena, will not have any representatives on the court.
