Amine Noua (2.02m, 28 years old) continues his world tour. After a remarkable season with Granada in Liga Endesa, followed by a short summer stint with Satria Muda Pertamina Jakarta in Indonesia, the French international power forward is heading to Japan. At 28, the Lyon native has reached an agreement with Shiga Lake Stars, who finished with the worst record in Japan’s first division (B1 League) in 2024-2025 (8 wins and 51 losses).

A new lucrative and ambitious destination

Japan continues to attract French basketball players. After Yannis Morin, Damien Inglis, and Amath M’Baye earlier in his career, it’s now Amine Noua’s turn to join the archipelago. The Japanese championship currently offers very attractive financial conditions and a living environment often appreciated by players. Shiga Lake Stars, relegated from B1 in 2023 before promoting back up, hope to perform better than last season, which they played with former Monaco player Brock Motum.

The former ASVEL player comes with a solid resume. In 2024-2025, he was one of the best players in Liga Endesa despite Granada’s relegation: 4th best scorer, 5th best rebounder, and 5th in average evaluation. His performance had impressed many observers of the Spanish championship.

Indonesia as a transition before Japan

Free since the end of the Spanish season, Amine Noua chose not to remain inactive during the offseason. He accepted an offer from Indonesian club Satria Muda Pertamina Jakarta for a short summer stint. An « exotic but ambitious » experience in a championship that runs for a shorter period and allows players to stay in shape between seasons.

Following this logic, the Indonesian passage was seen as a temporary stop. Eventually, his next step won’t be in Europe as initially planned, but in Japan. It’s a destination increasingly favored by French players and fits into the continuity of an ever-ambitious career.
