Player Profile

When T.J. Warren scored 53 points in the NBA Bubble in Orlando in 2020, he reminded the entire world why he was considered one of the purest scorers of his generation. That exceptional performance, the third-highest single-game total in Pacers history, perfectly illustrated the offensive talent that had propelled Anthony Warren Jr. from the courts of Durham all the way to the top of professional basketball.

His journey took shape at Brewster Academy, where he became the first player in school history to earn a McDonald's All-American selection in 2012, while also leading his team to the national prep championship. At NC State, the forward quickly built his reputation by posting the best field goal percentage in the ACC during his freshman season, before breaking out in his sophomore year with a 24.9 points-per-game average that earned him conference Player of the Year honors and a spot on the Second-Team All-American squad.

Warren's impact on the Wolfpack was so significant that the university retired his number 24 jersey, the ultimate recognition of his excellence. Selected 14th overall in the 2014 NBA Draft by Phoenix, he went on to play for the Suns, Indiana, Brooklyn, and the G League, leaving a lasting impression with his consistent offensive output and remarkable efficiency.

However, foot injuries brutally interrupted his momentum, keeping him off the court for nearly two full seasons. Alongside his playing career, Warren never forgot his roots, actively supporting underprivileged youth in his home region through his foundation. His gradual return speaks to a determination that could very well allow him to reclaim the heights he has already reached.
