The Utah Jazz pulled of a surprise victory by defeating the Golden State Warriors 119-116 in a game where both teams were missing several starters. Blake Hinson, a two-way contract player, hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 29.9 seconds remaining on the clock.

Brice Sensabaugh Leads Jazz Offense

Brice Sensabaugh was the game’s leading scorer with 21 points, leading a Jazz team that had lost eight of its last nine games. Kyle Filipowski also shined with a double-double of 19 points and 15 rebounds, providing the necessary inside presence.

Hinson’s impact was decisive in crucial moments. The two-way contract player hit four 3-pointers in the game, including the game-winner. Elijah Harkless, another two-way contract player, sealed the victory with two free throws to reach his career-high of 16 points.

Keyonte George scored 15 points for Utah but was unable to play in the fourth quarter due to illness.

Warriors Miss Opportunity Without Curry

For the Warriors, without Stephen Curry and several other starters, De’Anthony Melton led the offense with 22 points. Gui Santos added 15 points while Brandin Podziemski scored 14, but missed four crucial free throws in the fourth quarter.

Seth Curry returned after missing 40 games due to back problems, contributing 13 points. However, the Warriors lost more ground in the Western Conference Play-In Tournament race, with four losses in five games.

The difference was particularly evident at the free-throw line, where Utah excelled with 27 makes on 29 attempts, compared to 14 of 21 for Golden State. After 19 lead changes, the Jazz took control thanks to a 12-1 run in the third quarter, giving them an 89-78 advantage.
