Brandin Podziemski: stats, last game & news

When Brandin Podziemski was averaging 35.1 points per game in his final high school season, few could have imagined that this Wisconsin prodigy would so quickly become a cornerstone of the Golden State Warriors. Nicknamed "Podz", this versatile guard took an unconventional path to the NBA, balancing three sports in high school before fully dedicating himself to basketball.

At St. John's Northwestern Military Academy, Podziemski dominated the court with rare authority, averaging 35.1 points, 10 rebounds and 5.6 assists per game. This outstanding performance earned him the Wisconsin Mr. Basketball title and the Gatorade Player of the Year award in 2021. A four-star recruit, he had his pick of prestigious programs such as Kentucky and Miami, ultimately choosing Illinois.

His college journey took a decisive turn when he transferred to Santa Clara, where he refined his game before making the leap to the pros. The Warriors, won over by his versatility and maturity, selected him 19th overall in the 2023 draft. A winning bet for the California franchise, which saw in this 6'4" player the ability to play multiple positions.

Recognition came quickly: a selection to the Panini Rising Stars game during the 2024 All-Star Weekend, followed by a call-up to the USA Select Team ahead of the Paris Olympics. At just 21 years old, Podziemski is already establishing himself as one of the most promising young talents of his generation, combining basketball IQ and athletic versatility within one of the most demanding systems in the league.
