Oklahoma City continues its momentum with a fifth consecutive victory, this time at the expense of the Houston Rockets (111-91). The Thunder made the difference in the final quarter, outclassing their opponents 34-16 to win decisively on the Texas court.

A Balanced Collective Led by Gilgeous-Alexander

The strength of Oklahoma City was expressed through remarkable team play, with four players scoring more than 10 points. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the charge with 20 points, continuing his impressive streak of games with at least 20 points. Wilt Chamberlain’s record of 126 consecutive games in this category now seems within reach for the Thunder star.

Ajay Mitchell provided a valuable contribution with 17 points, while Lu Dort added 13 points. This depth of roster perfectly illustrates the rise of Oklahoma City, which now boasts an exceptional record of 35 wins and 7 losses.

Holmgren Shines in Hartenstein’s Absence

Without Isaiah Hartenstein once again, Oklahoma City could count on a brilliant Chet Holmgren from the opening tip. The big man scored 11 of his team’s 21 points in the first quarter, shooting a perfect 4 for 4, including his only 3-point attempt.

Holmgren finished the first half as the Thunder‘s leading scorer with 16 points, before concluding the game with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks. His performance once again demonstrates his ability to deliver in crucial moments.

Room for Improvement Despite the Victory

Despite this convincing success, Oklahoma City showed some weaknesses, particularly on the offensive glass where Houston dominated 23-7. The Thunder also committed 12 turnovers, allowing the Rockets to score 11 points off those errors in the first half alone.

This fifth consecutive victory marks the return to form of the Thunder, which was going through a more difficult period before this winning streak. With two straight wins against top Western Conference opponents, Oklahoma City appears to have rediscovered the level that makes them one of the title favorites this season.
