A major setback for Paris before the semi-final against Bourg
Paris Basketball qualified Thursday for the Betclic ELITE semi-finals by defeating JDA Dijon in game 3 at the Adidas Arena. A game 3 that Collin Malcolm did not play. His Brazilian coach Tiago Splitter revealed that the Ashland, Oregon native had injured his calf during the game. « His season is probably over, » he stated, as quoted by L’Équipe.
The American forward, solid on both ends of the floor this season, averaged 10.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 26 league games. In EuroLeague, he posted averages of 7.7 points, 2.5 rebounds and 1.2 assists in 33 appearances. His versatility and intensity will certainly be missed by the Parisian team for the remainder of the playoffs.
More bad news for the club: T.J. Shorts (5’9″, 27) also injured his right ankle during game 3. « He twisted it. He returned to the game but played through pain, » explained Splitter.
Against JL Bourg, Paris will have to deal with these uncertainties. A reduced rotation and physical intensity to maintain against the only team that completed their quarter-final in two games. A challenge for a team with title ambitions.
