Patrick Beverley joins Boulazac Basket Dordogne, it’s official!

As announced last Saturday, Patrick Beverley continues his career at Boulazac. This Friday, August 14, 2026, the club lifted the veil: the former tough NBA defender will indeed wear the colors of Boulazac Basket Dordogne (BBD) for the 2026-2027 season of Betclic ELITE. The player himself had let the cat out of the bag on Thursday evening on social media, with a suggestive “#year19” referring to his 19th professional season.
An NBA veteran with a biting defense
At 38 years old, Patrick Beverley (6’1″) arrives in Dordogne with an impressive NBA résumé. The American point guard/shooting guard played twelve seasons in the big league, racking up 666 regular season games and 71 playoff games, wearing the colors of Houston, the LA Clippers, Minnesota, Chicago, Philadelphia and Milwaukee. He made his mark mainly with the Rockets and the Clippers, where he built a reputation as a defensive specialist. In its statement, BBD emphasizes “his defensive intensity, his energy and his competitor’s temperament”, adding that he “established himself over the course of his career as one of the most combative players of his generation”.
His time in Europe confirms this reputation. After leaving the NBA, the player who is married to influencer Mandana Bolourchi — whose family has ties to the principality of Monaco — put together two successful seasons on the Old Continent: a stint at Hapoel Tel Aviv before the 2025 EuroCup title, then a FIBA Europe Cup final this year with PAOK Thessaloniki, where he averaged 9.3 points, 4 rebounds, 3.3 assists and 1.2 steals in 24 minutes per game. A complete and winning profile, which BBD hopes will pay off on the Betclic Élite courts.
A strengthened roster for the second season in Betclic Élite
The club also highlights Patrick Beverley’s leadership and experience in high-pressure games, qualities deemed valuable for a team entering its second season in the elite of French basketball after a successful first year. With this signing, BBD’s 2026-2027 roster is taking shape: Patrick Beverley, Antoine Eito, Aaron Estrada, Thomas Ville, Joshua Uduje, Cyrille Eliezer-Vanerot, J.T. Shumate, Obinna Anochili-Killen, Essome Miyem and Godwin Omenaka.
Now it remains to wait before seeing Beverley take to the Betclic Élite courts. The championship will not resume until September 26, 2026, and BBD will kick off its season against Roanne. This should give the Chicago native time to settle into his new project in Dordogne, after his move from Los Angeles (California).
