Player Profile

When Cole Anthony first dribbled on the courts of Manhattan, few could have imagined he would become one of the most promising point guards of his generation. The son of Greg Anthony, a former NBA player, and Crystal McCrary, a lawyer and filmmaker, young Cole grew up in a New York penthouse but learned the value of hard work from an early age.

Paradoxically, it was baseball that first caught his eye as a child. It wasn't until fifth grade that he turned definitively to basketball. Under the guidance of Steve Harris, a respected figure on the AAU circuit, Anthony quickly developed his skills. His mother immortalized this period in the documentary "Little Ballers," aired on Nickelodeon in 2013.

At Archbishop Molloy High School, he became the first freshman to start as the team's point guard. After transferring to Oak Hill Academy for his final year of high school, he confirmed his status as the top point guard in the class of 2019 with a unanimous five-star rating.

Despite a college season cut short by injury at North Carolina, Anthony earned Third-Team All-ACC honors. This resilience caught the attention of the Orlando Magic, who selected him 15th overall in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Capable of playing both point guard and shooting guard, Anthony stands out for his court vision, scoring ability, and contagious energy coming off the bench. Beyond the hardwood, he is committed to his community through the 50 Ways Foundation he founded, proving that his impact extends well beyond the stat sheet.
