The Phoenix Suns continued their push up the Western Conference standings with a convincing 114-103 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night. Sitting seventh in the West at 35-26, Phoenix is now just one win away from matching last season’s total of 36 victories.
Jalen Green led the scoring effort with 20 points and four steals, bouncing back from a difficult February shooting stretch. The performance was crucial for Green’s confidence, as he found his rhythm driving to the basket when the Suns played at a faster pace. Despite seven turnovers and just one assist, Green was instrumental in multiple Phoenix runs during the second and fourth quarters.
Booker Returns as Suns Dominate on Multiple Fronts
Star guard Devin Booker made his return after missing four games due to a right hip injury, contributing 17 points with 14 coming in the first half. Though he shot 6-for-19 from the field, Booker’s presence provided a significant boost to the team’s offensive flow.
The Suns showcased their depth with six players reaching double figures. Grayson Allen added 18 points, while Collin Gillespie impressed with 17 points on 5-of-8 shooting from beyond the arc, along with nine assists and six rebounds. Oso Ighodaro recorded a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds, including eight offensive boards.
Phoenix dominated the statistical categories, outrebounding Sacramento 53-40, hitting 19 3-pointers, and scoring 32 points in transition. The turning point came during a decisive 14-0 run in the third quarter, transforming a 63-62 deficit into a commanding 76-63 lead. Royce O’Neale capped the surge with consecutive 3-pointers.
For Sacramento, now 14-49 and holding the NBA‘s worst record, Maxime Raynaud provided a bright spot with 22 points on efficient 10-of-12 shooting and 10 rebounds. Precious Achiuwa contributed 18 points, DeMar DeRozan added 17, and Russell Westbrook chipped in 16 points. The Kings remain without forward Keegan Murray, who missed his third consecutive game due to an ankle injury.
The Suns return home to face the Chicago Bulls on Thursday night, while Sacramento continues their five-game homestand against the New Orleans Pelicans.
