Joël Ayayi and Jeremy Morgan, two former JL Bourg players, join Paris Basketball

Joël Ayayi continues his rise. After an excellent 2024-2025 season with JL Bourg, the French guard has signed with Paris Basketball according to L’Équipe, which we can confirm. He returns to Île-de-France, one year after his stint at Nanterre. The French international will be joined in the capital by Jeremy Morgan, another former Bourg player, who arrives from Hapoel Jerusalem.
Ayayi, an experienced and versatile addition
After playing at Gonzaga in NCAA and briefly in the NBA, Joël Ayayi (1.93m, 25 years old) has fully revived his career since returning to Europe. Following a notable spell at Nanterre, he established himself as one of JL Bourg’s leaders this season. Averaging 9.5 points, 5 rebounds and 3.8 assists in Betclic ELITE and 7.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, 3.6 assists in EuroCup, the guard has confirmed his potential at both levels.

Notably, Ayayi shone in playoffs… against Paris Basketball, averaging 10 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists in the series. His complete profile and ability to defend multiple positions make him an ideal complement to Nadir Hifi in the backcourt. In recent weeks, he had been courted by at least two other EuroLeague clubs, ASVEL and Valencia, but ultimately chose to continue his career in Paris.
Jeremy Morgan, a return to France for former Bourg key player
Fresh off a solid season with Hapoel Jerusalem – including an Israeli championship final – Jeremy Morgan (1.98m, 30 years old) returns to France. The American guard, who excelled under Tuomas Iisalo at Bonn and then Bourg-en-Bresse, had a mixed year, slowed by an ankle injury. In EuroCup, he averaged 6.5 points, 2.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 19 games.

In Paris, he will return to a familiar philosophy and join an ambitious team now aiming for EuroLeague. His shooter-defender profile should perfectly fit into Paris’s perimeter rotation, replacing Tyson Ward.

With the arrivals of Ayayi, Morgan, as well as Amath M’Baye and Allan Dokossi in the frontcourt, Paris Basketball largely renews its roster after winning the 2025 French championship.
